Jakarta, Gizmologi –  Spotify is quite proactive in attracting new podcast creators in Indonesia. One of the new efforts is through collaboration with the Indonesian Minister of Communication and Informatics (MC) along with The National Movement of Digital Literacy, Siberkreasi (Siberkreasi). They’ve officially launched the Kelas Podcast Siberkreasi 2022, a free podcast-only upskilling program.

Spotify has made big strides in podcasting, growing its global catalog to over 3.2 million+ podcasts that feature storytelling, education, and wellness from diverse voices in every imaginable genre.

In Indonesia, Spotify has worked with some of the best names in the local podcasting scene that have pushed podcasting as a format forward. Today, people can enjoy podcasts from a wide range of genres such as comedy, horror, self-development, and even wellness on Spotify.

Veterans like Podkesmas Asia Network or even young creators like Rintik Sedu–with their Spotify Original shows– made waves in the past few years and have paved the way for future creators. As of today, the audio streaming platform has over 25 Exclusives and 13 Originals in Indonesia alone.

Kelas Podcast Siberkreasi 2022

Kelas Podcast SIberkreasi 2022Starting from 26 Feb 2022 onwards, the program is open to all Indonesians interested to learn more about getting started in podcasting.

With Spotify on board as a partner of Kelas Podcast Siberkreasi 2022, participants can benefit from the podcasting expertise that the audio streaming platform brings to the table.

Since its first iteration back in 2020, Kelas Podcast Siberkreasi has reached more than 30,000 participants across the nation and aims to reach 50,000 more in 2022.

Participants can expect best-in-class tips and tricks on how to create their own podcast channel. From identifying their target audience, defining the show’s niche, managing transcripts, utilizing social media for promotion to up-level their podcasting game, and even voice coaching.

They will also be provided with podcast material and content ideas to kick start their journey. As part of this program, participants can also expect to hear from Spotify on how to get the most from using Anchor, Spotify’s free podcast creation, distribution, and hosting tool, once they are ready to kick start their podcasting journey.

To kick off Kelas Podcast Siberkreasi 2022, MCI and Siberkreasi held a webinar titled Gelombang Baru Siniar Generasi “Halu”? on February 16, 2022. During the session, the experts shared their experiences, tips, and tricks on starting and being consistent as podcasters.

In this event, the 2020/2021 alumni of the previous Kelas Podcast Siberkreasi sessions also shared their experience during the training, as well as their wish for more podcast content creators and digital literacy in Indonesia.

Carl Zuzarte, Southeast Asia Head of Studios at Spotify, said podcasting is a unique medium that allows for creativity and personalization. It enables everyone with an opinion or a story to make a difference by getting their voice heard by thousands or even millions of people.

“We’ve been actively working with Indonesian creators to build Exclusive and Original programming since 2019 and will continue to find more ways to support and build the local podcast community here. That’s why we’re very excited to work alongside MCI and Siberkreasi to help thousands of aspiring podcasters exercise their creativity and harness the full potential of this medium,” said Carl Zuzarte.

Through the series of sessions offered by Kelas Podcast Siberkreasi 2022, MCI, Siberkreasi, and Spotify hope that there shall emerge more podcasting talent in Indonesia who are able to create positive podcast content and to bring meaningful impact to society.
