Even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, OPPO Indonesia continues to present its newest device in Indonesia. This smartphone manufacturer considers these steps to support the team in the field in order to continue selling. One of the newest products is OPPO A12 which is included in the entry-level segment.
Aryo Meidianto, PR Manager of OPPO Indonesia, said that OPPO A12 is here to target users who want a device with a capable camera, better battery life, and technology that comes with smart features. “The presence of OPPO A12 is intended to stimulate the conversion of feature phone users so they can feel the sophistication of smartphone technology at a more affordable price,” said Aryo when introducing this product in an online press conference session in Jakarta (21/04).
OPPO A12 features RAM, battery capacity and complete software feature support, to assist consumers in completing their daily tasks. The design still looks familiar like previous OPPO affordable smartphone series.
OPPO A12 Features
Polycarbonate material is used on the OPPO A12 body, with a diamond-cut design, 3D Diamond Blaze design that is given a special texture so it doesn’t feel slippery when held. On the front side, there is a dimension that is compact enough for the size of a smartphone today, at 6.22 inches with HD + resolution (1520 x 720 pixels) and Corning Gorilla Glass protection 3. Aspect ratio used 19: 9, with a waterdrop notch on the upper side to place the front camera. OPPO also provides Blue Light Shield protection to make it safer for users’ eyesight.
On the backside, there is a fingerprint sensor that is placed above the logo, while on the left side there are two main camera sensors. The camera has a resolution of 13MP f / 2.2 with a 5P lens, accompanied by a 2MP f / 2.4 camera that functions as a depth sensor and LED flash. The OPPO A12’s rear camera is capable of recording videos up to 1080p resolution, and OPPO provides additional features such as panorama, portrait mode, time-lapse, AR stickers to professional mode.
For selfies, a 5MP f / 2.4 camera with a sensor size of 1/5 inch is prepared. The front camera can also be used as an alternative screen lock security (face unlock). The 4230 mAh battery capacity supports standard 10-watt charging.
In the performance sector, OPPO took MediaTek as the chipset choice on OPPO A12. This smartphone uses the Helio P35 octa-core Cortex-A53 chipset with a maximum frequency of up to 2.3GHz, as well as the GPU PowerVR GE8320 IMG.
OPPO A12 will be present in Indonesia with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, plus support for microSD card slots up to 256GB capacity. 4G VoLTE network support is also available on smartphones running the Android 9 Pie ColorOS 6.1.2 interface. To improve audio quality, OPPO A12 also features Dirac Audio.
OPPO A12 prices in Indonesia
In Indonesia, OPPO A12 will be marketed with an official retail price of Rp2,499 million. This smartphone is already available in several local e-commerce sites such as Shopee, Lazada, JD.id, Blibli, Tokopedia, and Akulaku. This smartphone can also be purchased through the #BetterAtHome service from OPPO, by contacting the official WhatsApp number. Smartphones will be sent directly to consumers’ homes, with appropriate security protocols to stay safe even in the Covid-19 pandemic.
