Jakarta, Gizmologi – The sophistication of smartphone cameras for taking portrait photos is now not limited to improving the beauty effect or the level of blur or bokeh. Thanks to the development of camera sensors, portraits can now be presented in different zoom ranges. One of them is the ZEISS Multifocal Portrait feature presented through the latest vivo V40 smartphone.

Yes, through the vivo V Series, vivo Indonesia wants to present a smartphone that is not only sleek and stylish, but brings the best portrait features in its segment, through a superior camera setup. Continuing to excel with its exclusive AI Aura Light Portrait lighting system, the vivo V40 now offers something new, making its photos look more professional.

The presence of ZEISS Multifocal Portrait on the vivo V40 is also a sign that finally the standard variant of the vivo V Series has also received a touch from the prestigious camera brand – unlike the previous generation, which was only embedded in the Pro version. So what is the use of the ZEISS Multifocal Portrait feature?

Three ZEISS Multifocal Portrait Options on vivo V40

To take portrait images with a human subject as the main focal point, there are various ranges or distances that can be determined. To get up close and personal, a telephoto sensor is generally used on smartphones with a 2x magnification, or a focal length of about 50mm, which is said to be the most suitable focal length for portraits.

Even without a dedicated telephoto sensor, the vivo V40 camera carries a main sensor that is already of high quality, including when zoomed in to replicate the zoom of a telephoto portrait sensor. With that comes the ZEISS Multifocal Portrait feature, which allows users to take portrait photos in three different distance/magnification options. They are 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm respectively.

24mm portrait photos are suitable for landscape portraits, aka a portrait photo that still wants to show the atmosphere or scenery around it. While 35mm portrait is more suitable for street portrait photography, it does not show much of the surrounding atmosphere, so as not to distract the main subject. Finally, there is the 50mm portrait or what is called classic portrait-really focusing on the main subject.

The presence of ZEISS Multifocal Portrait on vivo V40 makes users feel like they have three different camera lenses in a smartphone, which can produce optimal portraits at each distance. You can do further exploration related to this feature, and combined with the reliability of other portrait features on this latest vivo V Series smartphone.

Can be Combined with 7 ZEISS Bokeh Effects

Not only from different distances, ZEISS Multifocal Portrait can also be combined with ZEISS Style Bokeh, aka the exclusive bokeh effect replicated directly from ZEISS lenses. Through the vivo V40 camera, you can have 7 types of iconic ZEISS bokeh effects. From Planar, Distagon, Sonnar, Biotar, B-Speed, Cine-flare, to cinematic styles.

The ability of the vivo V40 camera to produce the best ZEISS Multifocal Portrait, of course, is thanks to the use of a large 1/156-inch GNJ sensor that has been paired with OIS. Not only the main sensor has a resolution of 50MP, but also the ultra-wide sensor and the front camera sensor. All support autofocus, and are included in the ZEISS All Main Camera system.

Of course, accompanied by Aura Light that can provide a brightening effect on the face as if using additional studio lights. Compared to conventional flash solutions, it can provide a much brighter while smoother glow. For quality portrait photos even in poor lighting.
