ZTE Indonesia has made a comeback for the second year, offering affordable smartphone options in September 2022. In August 2023, two new gaming smartphones were released by nubia, the Neo 5G, belonging to different price ranges, from top-tier to more affordable. Now the ZTE nubia Neo 2 5G is here as a successor with a number of feature improvements.
According to Faiz Naufal, ZTE Nubia’s Smartphone GTM Manager in Indonesia, there will be three new Nubia series officially available in Indonesia by 2024. Apart from the ZTE nubia Neo 2 5G, there will be a smartphone that focuses on music and photography aspects. The leaks of the two newest Nubia lines, apart from gaming, were actually introduced at MWC 2024 last February.
ZTE nubia Neo 2 brings attractive advantages
The ZTE nubia Neo 2 5G is available in three colors: Frost Silver, Sunfire Yellow, and Storm Gray. It also has futuristic accents on the back, which is common in gaming smartphones. This device has a thickness of 8.5mm and weighs 208 grams, and to improve the gaming experience, this latest Nubia smartphone presents special features that are the first in its segment. Namely, dual gaming shoulder triggers on the side of the device.
The mapping of each shoulder button can be adjusted according to the needs of each game title being played. Meanwhile, to support its performance, the ZTE nubia Neo 2 5G is supported by the Unisoc T820 octa-core 6nm chip which has a maximum clock speed of 2.7GHz. It is claimed to be able to score Antutu up to more than 556 thousand points. Reinforced with 8GB RAM (which can be increased to 20GB), and spacious internal storage at 256GB.
The ZTE nubia Neo 2 5G has UFS memory for better performance. It also has a layered heat sink system with optimal conductor material on the battery and motherboard sides. NeoTurbo is also available with AI-based optimization, and for playing PUBG games, it is claimed to be stable at 60fps.
The ZTE nubia Neo 2 5G battery measures 6,000 mAh, can be charged up to 50% in 30 minutes, with 33W fast charging support. Want to play games while charging without making the battery hot? This device includes an enhanced bypass charging feature that ensures maximum safety. Stereo speakers that support DTS:X Ultra are also present, complete with additional special gaming software that can maximize overall performance.

Other aspects offered by the ZTE nubia Neo 2 5G include a spacious 6.72 inch IPS full HD+ 120Hz screen, MyOS 13 interface based on Android 13, NFC, a fingerprint sensor integrated with the power button, and a camera with AI algorithm support. The ZTE nubia Neo 2 5G camera has 16MP resolution on the front side, then on the back, there is a 50MP main sensor with a 2MP bokeh sensor.
According to Li Zhiqiang, ZTE Mobile Devices South & Southeast Asia Director, the ZTE nubia Neo 2 5G is an example of their philosophy of “Better Gaming for All”. It aims to give young Indonesian gamers a chance to experience gaming at a higher level and provide them with unmatched excitement.
