How do you know whether a smartphone line is selling well? Apart from information published by well-known research firms, you can also get official news from the smartphone brand itself. Recently, Xiaomi officially announced that sales of Redmi smartphones had reached 1 billion units in the last 10 years – a value that is of course fantastic.

Redmi’s smartphones are known to have attractive specifications for the price class offered. In Indonesia itself, the Redmi smartphone has existed since 2014. You could say that it is the foundation for Xiaomi Indonesia to finally be able to release other variants. The Mi series, now called the number series, includes flagship smartphones like the Xiaomi 12 Series and the Xiaomi 13T, which comes with a Leica camera.

In the near future, Xiaomi Indonesia also seems to be preparing to present the latest Redmi smartphone series. There are teasers on the official Instagram account that might be for the Redmi 13C. It has already been launched in a number of other countries.

Redmi Smartphone Product Sales Reach 1 Billion Units (2013-2023)

William Lu, Partner and President of Xiaomi Group, shared information about the impressive sales success of Redmi smartphones on November 22. William said that the figure of 1 billion units applies to global sales of Redmi smartphones in the 2013-2023 period.

Xiaomi thanks its fans for their support and trust. “Your support serves as a driving force for Xiaomi to persist in delivering cutting-edge technology at affordable prices, making it accessible to all consumers in Indonesia,” said Xiaomi Indonesia.

For your information, Xiaomi itself first introduced its smartphone series in Indonesia in 2014. The Redmi 1S was a very tempting choice for consumers due to its attractive specifications for an entry-level Android smartphone. Such as an 8MP camera, quad-core processor from Snapdragon, up to 8 GB internal storage and 1 GBB RAM which was considered luxurious in its class at that time.

In Indonesia, there are various Redmi smartphones available. These include the Redmi Note 12 Series with 5G capabilities and great camera quality. There’s also the Redmi A2, which starts at just IDR 799 thousand. It is not surprising that sales of Redmi smartphones are able to record fantastic figures.

Xiaomi Redmi 13C

In the near future, Xiaomi Indonesia is suspected of launching its newest Redmi smartphone series, namely the Redmi 13C. Introduced globally on November 11, this affordable Xiaomi smartphone appears in a much fresher design than the previous generation. This includes a rear camera design that appears to be inspired by the flagship series.

The Redmi 13C screen supports a smooth 90Hz refresh rate which makes scrolling look smoother. The screen is 6.74 inches with HD+ resolution, can reach up to 600 nits of brightness, and has Gorilla Glass protection.

For its own photography capabilities, it is supported by a 50MP main camera sensor paired with a depth sensor. Using the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, paired with quite spacious memory options up to 256GB. What is the right price for the Redmi 13C to compete with other entry class smartphones in the country?
