7 Standard and Important Features the iPhone Doesn't Have

The first generation iPhone was introduced by Steve Jobs 16 years ago, to be precise in 2007. When it was introduced at that time, it did look more sophisticated than cell phones of its time. But …

Who would have thought, behind the sophistication of the iPhone, it turns out that this cellphone comes without the standard features that have been adopted by other cellphones. What is that feature?

Copy Paste

The new iPhone had this feature two years after its launch, in 2009. Even though copying and pasting text is one of the most important features a cellphone must have.

Front Camera

When selfies weren't that important, it seemed perfectly reasonable for the iPhone not to have this feature when it first came out. Until finally the iPhone 4 was launched in 2010 with FaceTime, this feature was introduced.

App Store

The iPhone comes with built-in apps like Phone, Weather, Notes, Calendar, Photos, and Calculator, but there's no official way to install third-party apps. By July 2008, Apple finally launched the App Store as a place for developers to publish their applications.

Video Recording

The iPhone camera at that time could only take photos, it could not record video. It was only when the iPhone 3GS arrived in 2009 that this feature existed.

Flashlight

At that time, even feature phones already had this feature. But not with iPhone. Until finally this application was available when the App Store was launched.

Send photos

Previously, the iPhone could only send messages via SMS, it could not send photos. It was only in 2009 that this feature called MMS was introduced, but only for the iPhone 3G and 3GS.

GPS

The iPhone used to have Google Maps as a built-in application, but there were no turn-by-turn directions, because it didn't have GPS. This feature was introduced on the iPhone 3G in 2008 with built-in GPS.

iPhone

So, those are some of the standard features that the first generation iPhone didn't have. Now of course the latest iPhone already has these features.

However, despite its sophistication today, there is still the opinion that this cellphone has features that are outdated compared to Android cellphones. What do you think?
