More than 17 Million PLN Customer Data Allegedly Leaked

Jakarta, Gizmologi – Alleged data leaks have occurred again in Indonesia. This time, more than 17 million customer data of PLN or the State Electricity Company were sold on the breached.to hacker forum.

The information was shared by a Twitter user @F2aldi. From the screenshot shared, it shows the breached.to page which contains an account called Loliyta claiming to sell PLN customer data.

“Hi, I’m selling data PLN 17 MILLION++ with field ID,Idpel, Name, Consumer Name, Energy Type, Kwh, Address, Meter No, Unit Upi,Meter Type,Name of Upi Unit,Unit Ap,Unit Name,Unit Up, Unit Name Up, Last Update, Created At,” wrote the seller, quoted by Gizmologi, Friday (19/8/2022).

Citing the page, some PLN customer data that is claimed to be sold include field ID, customer ID, customer name, energy type, KWH, address, meter number, to meter type, as well as the name of the UPI unit.

Furthermore, the account also shared several samples of PLN data, and added information for interested buyers to contact him via Telegram.

Regarding this finding, a number of netizens immediately mentioned the news of this data leak through PLN’s Twitter account at @pln_123. However, until this news was raised, there has been no response from PLN regarding this matter.
