Jakarta, Gizmologi – As a smartphone brand with the same parent company as OPPO and OnePlus, Vivo is quite routine for the release of the latest products. Although the complementary ecosystem is relatively rare – such as earphones or smartwatches, for example – it still releases many 5G smartphones and regularly presents flagships. For the “lower limit”, the vivo Y01 has just been unveiled in the African market.

The Huawei Y Series is practically similar to the Galaxy A Series, which is a line that accommodates various classes of smartphones from entry-level to mid-range. In Indonesia alone, there are quite a few mid-range variants with 5G support available. The flagship vivo X70 Pro is also official, even without the Pro Plus variant.

The entry-level segment, especially the price range of Rp. 1 million, is certainly important for each vendor. With the pandemic situation plus the adoption of digital payment platforms and methods, it indirectly requires people to have smartphones to carry out their daily essential needs. Devices like the vivo Y01 will be relied on by many of the lower classes, of course.

Has a Design Similar to the Y15s Series

In terms of exterior appearance, the Vivo Y01 is quite similar when compared to the kayak, namely the Vivo Y15s. Even the physical dimensions are the same, only the weight is reduced by 1 gram to 178 grams. Maybe a result of one camera sensor being removed, yes. The rest is still the same, except for the choice of color options.

The back body of the vivo Y01 has a striped doff texture that can also emit certain lines of light. The camera module has been made modern, while the fingerprint sensor will be “market dependent”. Aliases depending on the policy of each country will add it or not. At least, there is an alternative Face Wake aka face unlocks, utilizing the front camera sensor.

The Vivo Y01 screen is classified as standard, carrying specifications that are widely used by smartphones of Rp. 1.5 million. The dimensions are quite wide-reaching 6.51 inches, with HD + resolution and a 20:9 ratio. At least, the panel is IPS so that it can provide a wide viewing angle. Features such as Eye Protection Mode are also present to reduce blue light emission, to be safe in long-duration use.

Above the screen, a 5MP f/2.2 camera sensor is pinned. While on the rear body, there is one camera sensor whose specifications may vary by country; 8MP f/2.0 or 13MP f/2.2. Even though there is only one, the Vivo Y01 can still produce portrait photos via software-based solutions. Able to blur the background of the subject subtly.

vivo Y01 Supports Multi-Turbo Features

vivo Y01

Being an entry-class smartphone, the Vivo Y01 runs a fairly old chipset. Namely the MediaTek Helio P35 (12nm) with an octa-core CPU architecture up to 2.35GHz. Paired with 2/3GB RAM options and 32GB internal storage, Vivo uses the Android 11 Go Edition operating system so it doesn’t burden the chipset. Even so, a number of features such as Easy Share and iManager are still available.

vivo also provides a Multi-Turbo algorithm to improve performance through software. And if the internal memory is quite small, there is a triple SIM slot that can accommodate a microSD capacity of up to 1TB. This smartphone also has a relatively large battery, which is 5,000 mAh. Of course, it is not supported by fast charging, nor is the port still a MicroUSB type.

Comes in Sapphire Blue and Elegant Black color options, Vivo has not stated the official price of this device. However, when viewed from the specifications, it is not much different from the Vivo Y1s which were released at the end of 2020. Sold for IDR 1,499 million in Indonesia.
