Cooperation between Indonesia and India that has been established for decades will be closer. Bilateral trade between the two countries has even reached the US $ 24.10 billion in 2015-2016. To further strengthen relations and commitments between India and the ASEAN region including Indonesia, Telecom Equipment & Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC) is organizing the India ASEAN ICT Expo 2017.

The grand technology conference held on December 6 and 7, 2017 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, has the support of the Government of India’s Transportation and Telecommunications Department, and NASSCOM. India ASEAN ICT Expo 2017 will be a platform for technology convergence and business exchange. This event will be helpful not only in covering the credit line opportunities announced by the Government, but will also help the company to build a strong business base in emerging markets.

The focus of the India ASEAN ICT Expo 2017 is IT and telecommunications – two sectors that are the backbone for the growth of any region/country and Indonesia has become one of the fastest growing markets in Asia in the adoption and communication of ICT technologies.

Indonesia is rapidly developing internet and broadband connectivity bases, fast-track mobility markets and e-Government and citizen-centric projects. This makes Indonesia a potential market for Indian telecom products and has a good demand for telecommunication projects.

On the other hand, India has proven its capabilities in the sector of ICT (information and communication technology). The country is also recognized as the preferred destination for telecommunication products and services with technology transfer of telecommunication products designed through R & D for the needs of developing countries.

With great domestic demand for telecommunication equipment in India, the company through innovation and R & D creates world-class products for India as well as other emerging markets.

The conference and exhibition will bring together more than 100 companies from India and the ASEAN region and attract more than 2000 exhibition visitors. The event will bring IT & Telecom stakeholders from India to Network, Meet and Plan to fulfill economic dreams in cooperation with the ASEAN ICT Industry.

Manoj Sinha, India’s Communications Minister visits Indonesia and leads the Indian ICT industry delegation. Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Telecommunication Department, Government of India will also be present. In addition, 10 ICT Ministers in the ASEAN region are also invited by the Government of India to attend the ASEAN ICT Expo 2017.

India ASEAN ICT Expo 2017 Strengthening Bonds Between India and Indonesia

India’s focus on strengthening multifaceted relations with ASEAN is the result of significant changes in the world’s political and economic scenarios since the early 1990s and the Indian marches themselves toward economic liberalization. India’s search for the economic space produces ‘Look East Policy’.

India and ASEAN observe 25 years of their Dialogue Partnership, 15 levels of Summit Level interaction and 5 years of Strategic Partnership in 2017. The silver anniversary theme of the ASEAN-India Dialogue Partnership, “Shared Value, Common Fate”, is built on civilization and ties a culture that has bound the countries of India and ASEAN for over a thousand years. A line of credit of US $ 1 BILLION in ‘DIGITAL CONNECTIVITY’ is also available for ASEAN.

Thanks to game changer solutions from the Indian ICT industry as well as utilizing the Government of India Line of Credit available for ASEAN digital connectivity, Indonesia can be the first project to refresh the historic ties between the two countries. A new round will be added in the ICT sector between the two countries.

This will be a major transformation in the lives of people living in the archipelagic country of Indonesia, where they not only have access to cellular networks but also e-education, e-health, wi-fi, and e-governance.
