Datascrip & Wacom Challenge Indonesian Students to Make Creative Comics

The creative industry in Indonesia is growing rapidly, one of which is comic. Creative media featuring images with text, with this particular themed storyline getting more popular. The creators of comics in the country continue to emerge. That’s what underlies Datascrip Creative Comic Competition for comic artists.

Competition held by Datascrip and supported by Wacom aims to provide opportunities for students and students of comic lovers and who like to draw to create creative comic works that are artistic, unique and communicative. Datascrip Creative Comic Competition held September 15 to November 30, 2017, is the theme “I Love Indonesia”. Participants are free to pour ideas and creativity about their love for Indonesia. Participants are also free to choose genres, ranging from comedy, drama, action, to myth/legend.

Jeremy Hermanto, Division Manager of PT Datascrip said Datascrip Creative Comic Competition aims to be a forum for young comic artists to be creative. “Through this national scale event Datascrip supports the talent and the work of young comic artists to be better known in the community, and opens the opportunity to become the professional comic artist,” said Jeremy.

The competition is divided into three categories, namely for Junior High School (SMP), High School (SMA) students and students. Participants can be individuals or groups (per group consists of 2 persons). Comics can be made digitally or traditionally as much as 16-24 pages (may be colored or not), with size 210mm x 297mm (A4). Comics that are contested are original work and have never been published before.

The contested work is submitted to the Creative Tablet Datascrip Team with the address of Datascrip Building, Jl. Selaparang Blok B15 Kav 19, Kemayoran Complex, Jakarta 10610 no later than November 30, 2017. The jury consisting of Is Yuniarto (Comic), Li Julian (Comic), Gita Juwita (Editor Re: ON Comics) and Rendy Burhan (Creative Marketing from the Creative Tablet Datascrip Team) will select the winners for each category with the following prizes.

Each winner in each category will get 1 unit of Wacom tablet with a certain type. Prizes for the winners will be submitted by the Jury at the award of the Winners in Jakarta in December 2017.
