In 1980, the Komodo National Park was established to protect the komodo dragon and its habitat that increasingly rare. Komodo National park lies between the province of Nusa Tenggara Timur and Nusa Tenggara Barat. This park consists of three large islands, namely Komodo Island, Rinca Island, and Padar Island and several small islands with a land area of 603 km2.
Although the Komodo National Park was created to protect the life of about 5700 Komodo as a dwelling house or habitat, the scope of the park has been expanded to native wildlife. In addition to the Timor deer, which is the main source of food for Komodo, this island also is a habitat for 72 species of birds, such as yellow-crested cockatoo. Thousands of species of fish that swim in the surrounding waters, as well as sea turtles, dolphins, and whales.
Today, Komodo National Park stepped on the age of 37. The uniqueness of Komodo as ancient animals apparently attracts the attention Google. The internet giant gives prizes in the form of a Google Doodle as a celebration of the 37th Komodo National Park. Interestingly, Google does not just provide a thematic image that is displayed on the homepage, but also create an interactive quiz to test the ability of these ancient animals.
Google themselves describe the Komodo National Park in Indonesia located in the center of the archipelago and consists of 3 volcanic islands. The view itself is not like the others, starting from the conditions of the savanna dry to a dense forest, all surrounded by white sand beaches and bright blue water. Despite the plethora of native wildlife, Komodo dragons are still what the park is best known for. Google give appreciation by saying thanks to the National Park, such as the Komodo. Because of the presence of National Parks like this, wildlife can continue to flourish largely undisturbed by human interference.
To make Doodle of Komodo National Park, the team involved is Alyssa Winans, Diana Tran, and Kevin Laughlin for designing design art. Then the engineering held by the Jonathan Shneier and Mark Ivey with Production by My-Linh Le.
